Loch Ordie and Loch Oisinneach

Loch Oisinneach by bike

In the hills above Ballinluig is a fantastic network of paths perfect for both walking and mountain biking. A particularly popular path is the short walk to Loch Ordie. It is a stunning wee loch within easy reach of the road and well worth a visit. Good views of Creag Martach on the other side of the River Tay when descending.

For a longer loop you can head towards Loch Oisinneach (Mor and Beg) and you soon find yourself in what seems like total wilderness. The path is good and well marked. My favourite spot is the old ruin below. I definitely need to camp there one day. For me, the best part of this network of trails is how easily you can get the feeling of being in wilderness and yet you are never very far from the road. Excellent.

A fantastic ruin between Loch Ordie and Loch Oisinneach. I need to camp here one day.
